Hello 2025 + A Parent MUST Have

A large fireworks display in the night sky

Hey Reader,

Happy New Year! 🎉 Can you believe it’s already 2025? I’ve been taking some time to reflect on the highs, lows, and lessons from 2024, and I wanted to share a few things that have been on my heart:

  1. I haven't always been my true self online. The truth is, online is a really scary place to share your beliefs and personality — because if one person doesn't like it, that one person can tear you down and make sure you and everyone else know it. I realized I've let that fear hold me back in many ways, but I'm done doing that. If I'm not your cup of tea, that's ok.

  2. I'm finally in a place where I can prioritize myself without feeling bad about it and it's a really great feeling.

  3. I struggled with sharing my health journey because I've focused on self-love and acceptance, I couldn't find the ways that wanting to lose weight and improve my health fit into that narrative until I realized that wanting to lose weight and improve my health was a HUGE act of self-love itself.

Now, I’d love to hear from you. What’s your biggest takeaway or lesson from 2024? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to read your stories.

Speaking of reflections, I can’t help but think back to a scary moment we had last month in December. Right during Christmas week, our entire family was hit hard with sickness. Ten days of non-stop coughing, body aches, exhaustion, and throwing up. My youngest was especially sick, and I started to worry he was getting dehydrated after not eating or drinking much in 2 days. But with ER wait times being so long, and totally flooded with other sick people, I felt stuck and overwhelmed.

That’s when Blueberry Pediatrics came to the rescue—again.

If you’re not familiar, Blueberry Pediatrics is a virtual pediatric service that gives parents 24/7 access to board-certified pediatricians. They’ve saved my sanity more than five times this past year (you can check out one of the last times we had to use them)!

Instead of waiting hours at the ER (or juggling sick kids in a busy waiting room), I was able to talk to a pediatrician from the comfort of my own home.

They quickly assessed my son’s symptoms, called in a prescription, and by the end of the day, I had medication in hand. Finally, my little guy was able to keep some liquids down and start recovering. I honestly can’t thank them enough—especially during a holiday week when it felt like everything else was out of control 🤪.

Accidents and illness always seem to happen when it’s least convenient (hello, Christmas week!), but having Blueberry Pediatrics in your corner means you’re never alone. Why not kick off the new year knowing your kids’ health is a top priority without damaging your bank account?

Wishing you a joyful and healthy start to 2025!
